You can improve the appearance of your lawn throughout the year by utilizing our five step fertilizer program. Fertilization will provide your lawn with all the nutrients required to stay healthy, as well as, enhance the appearance of your property. We consider this basic program an essential service for every lawn.
Listed below is a description of our five step process and when these steps are typically scheduled:
STEP ONE: EARLY SPRING "Pre-Emergent Weed Control": (Late April – Early May)
Our first fertilizer application is applied to promote a faster green up in the spring, as well as, continued root development following the winter months. In addition, a pre-emergent weed control is applied to target crabgrass and other broadleaf weeds.
STEP TWO: LATE SPRING "Post-Emergent Weed Control": (Early June – Mid-June)
A few weeks after the first step, a fertilizer step is applied with a post emergent weed control to treat any remaining broadleaf weeds within your turf – such as dandelions or clover. This fertilizer step will strengthen your lawn for the hot summer months to follow.
STEP THREE: SUMMER FEEDING "Grub Prevention Application": (Mid-July – Late July)
By mid-summer, we apply a well-timed insecticide application to control and prevent grubs from invading your lawn and provide protection to ensure grub damage does not spread from neighboring yards. In addition, a gentle feeding will be applied to provide your lawn strength during the hot summer months.
STEP FOUR: EARLY FALL "Summer Heat Stress Relief with Lime": (Early September – Mid-September)
After summer, the next fertilizer step combined with lime will be applied to help your lawn recover from any heat stresses endured during the summer months, as well as, provide an early feeding for a healthy fall growing season. This is also a good time to spot treat for remaining broadleaf weeds that have resurfaced.
STEP FIVE: LATE FALL "Winterizer Application": (Late October – Early November)
Lastly, our final fertilizer step will be applied to complete your yearly feeding cycle and continue to strengthen your lawn’s root system over the winter. This application will winterize your yard and promote a faster green up when spring arrives.
